New Chapter of My Life
Welcome to Creighton University School of Medicine, Phoenix!
My very first stethoscope and white coat ceremony as a clinical skills codirector! I have served as a clerkship director for the Dept of Internal Medicine for over 6 years and now I get to work with the real new bees of medical school 💙 I am so honored to be part of the @creightonphx 💙
The teacher in me is beyond ecstatic 🤩 This is the first year I will be teaching the M1s- first year students! I am nervous and excited at the same time💙 I am surrounded and supported by strong women and men from all walks of life!
I will continue to teach residents and see patients which brings me just as much joy 💙 I am so excited to get to know these outstanding students - musicians, athletes, teachers from all cultures and backgrounds! Our regional dean’s message was powerful and such a symbol of what we represent as @creightonphx / Creighton school of Medicine💙

All I can say is my heart is blue jays

Back to School 2021
All kinds of emotions as these two start another school year! We have a high schooler now 🙏🏽 Such a reminder of how time flies! Enjoy all moments - good, bad and ugly! They all are over before you blink.

Mayo Clinic Conference Takeaways
Feeling inspired and inadequate can exist in the same space sometimes!
🤷🏽♀️This is exactly my state of mind after a fabulous conference @mayoclinic #mayogrit
👩🏽⚕️👩⚕️👩🏻⚕️👩🏽⚕️👩🏾⚕️👩🏿⚕️👩🏼⚕️ I met so many amazing women - leaders, innovators, researchers, scientists… women with multiple careers, artists who are phenomenal surgeons, women who have overcome incredible challenges , warriors, new moms, physicians with enviable biceps etc etc etc
I saw powerful speakers display vulnerability and share their stories - stories of success/ failure / paving new paths etc
As I listened and took notes I was in awe of all the women I met.
I oscillated between not enough / inadequate / incompetent but also felt inspired all at the same time
However with a good night sleep , hugs from my boys and Sunday prayers I found some clarity in my thoughts…
My take home points …
I am quoting and paraphrasing some of the speakers and women I met ..
✅When your plan fails - pivot
✅Everyone has a unique plate . An overflowing plate has consequences- health/ sanity / quality of work 🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️

My Office Space!
My Office Space!
I strongly believe in creating a ‘zen’ like space at work.
Space that brings in some calm and gratitude.
Wellness should not be viewed as a concept outside of work- most of us think of Wellenss at home / with our loved ones / at the gym … wellness has to be a concept at work as well!
I spend close to 40 hours at work and hence I have mindfully decorated my office with all things that make me smile!
Rose gold accessories @amazon , @drnatstrand
A comfy pillow, cosy scarf and jacket, kids art work, plants, a gratitude book, snacks, water bottles , room freshener and quotes that remind me to be optimistic.
Now don’t get me wrong- rose gold accessories are not an antidote to toxic work environment 🤷🏽♀️ if you are surrounded by negative people even a yoga studio will not give you that satisfaction at work !
I am fortunately surrounded by people who care for me and are fiercely protective of me ❤️
With me here is @streamland79 who is one of the most beautiful people I work with. She helped me set up my office space few months ago ❤️
I try to keep my office as organized as possible… clutter free !
I am a strong believer in our environment being contagious … a positive , clutter free environment can help create a positive/ optimistic clutter free mind❤️

The Family Place Charity
Instagram vs Reality!
Not that different this time …
It’s not always what you see is what you get! In fact, in my experience I am often disappointed when I meet people that I am curious about .. not these two @tiffanymoonmd @vickichanmd
Last night we supported them and the charity they support @thefamilyplace a place that helps victims of domestic violence.
The sales from @tiffanymoonmd products went to this charity!
I love supporting women in medicine who are not afraid to branch out to other businesses and become entrepreneurs!
Tiffany has a candle line designed by her and here’s what I bought-
Lidocaine, Ondansetron, Labetolol and Lorazepam 🤷🏽♀️
All vaccinated and some with boosters completed… it was nice to support women in medicine and a great cause! Plus we all got to dress up and catch up with each other ✅
